Hello
I use Gmail and would like to permanently store certain emails
To do this, I created a specific label to which I forward the relevant emails
At this point, the email is located in
The relevant label and in "All Mail"
If the "All Mail" box is emptied, the email also disappears from the relevant label
Is this normal and how can I ensure that it is kept permanently?
Thank you in advance for your help
Best regards

Hello,

The "all messages" box should not be emptied (except for messages you do not wish to keep) ... Its function is to gather all the emails you want to keep, without specifically taking the labels into account (even if they are indicated).

Hello and thank you for your response
Okay, but for how long are the messages kept?
Some important emails would need to be kept almost permanently
Kind regards

Hello,

As long as the email account is active, the messages are kept...

Personally, I have a Gmail address since 2007... and all the messages I've saved are there....

Of course, for security reasons - even though I don’t do it personally for this address that I don't use for essential things, it is recommended to back up the emails you consider crucial.... (for this purpose, I access my two other addresses with an email client: Thunderbird)
