Obtaining the DAEU B

Good evening everyone, I want to drop out of high school because I don't like it at all for many reasons. The thing with high school is that my vocational subject (Machining Technician) doesn't interest me anymore. Despite my grades improving a bit to try to get the vocational diploma, I'm just not into it anymore, and if I enter the final year next year, it would be disastrous... I really want to quit to pursue something that I really enjoy, and I would like to get opinions to understand more about the pre-DAEU and the DAEU B.
Therefore, I wish to redirect myself towards a DAEU B and then go on to a BTS in audiovisual studies. I am motivated and plan to work for a year to save money while I wait to turn 19 for the pre-DAEU. If anyone has taken it or has experience with this diploma, I would appreciate it because I don't know much about it ^^ Thank you all, and have a good evening.

Hello,
This diploma corresponds to the equivalence of the B.A.C.
I have quite a few students who pass this diploma and then choose to enter university or pursue technological studies, etc.
The level is unrelated; it's just a matter of feeling comfortable in a place that suits each individual better.
Try next year to apply to change your major to pursue the B.A.C.: L, S, or ES.

BTS in audiovisual professions: five options to choose from

About fifty institutions prepare students for the BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) in audiovisual professions over two years, which is available in five options: production management, image professions, editing and post-production professions, sound professions, engineering techniques and equipment operation.

While the production management option mainly welcomes graduates from ES and L, those admitted to the other options come from a Bac S, and nearly half of them choose the engineering techniques and equipment operation option.

Some institutions offer preparatory courses to enter the BTS: a curriculum focused on scientific subjects for L graduates; and a curriculum more focused on the artistic dimension for scientific and technological graduates.

The internet does not provide all the information, so it is up to you to find out where and how things work.

It is your future to choose, and no one else's.

Good luck.

Hello, thank you for your response. I saw that we can have a refresher course 1 year before taking the DAEU
Yes, I will ask about it, but from what I have "seen" on some forums, you can obtain the DAEU regardless of the level of education achieved and regardless of the diplomas obtained. But do you think I could take the DAEU B?? For my part, I am ready to do a preparatory year to be able to obtain the DAEU as I am very interested in it and I am highly motivated to do everything possible to get it. From what I have seen, many people who left the school system passed it and now they are in various BTS programs.

You will repeat a retraining course, and for two years you will need to work continuously, even in the summer, to obtain this D.A.E.U. (Diploma of Access to University Studies in Science), whether in B or in L, ES.
Yes, find out because they require your last levels from your previous high school to take it.

Also, this D.A.E.U. is paid and not free, which is why you need to inquire beforehand.

As for the price, I just inquired and I will work for a year to be able to pay for what is needed. I sincerely thank you for your clear and quick responses, and for the refresher course, I also looked into it and I will do it. I will give my all to succeed in the DAEU B and during the two years, I will also revise at university and at home.

Hello.

Are you sure you know what the DAEU consists of?

With a failed technology high school level, you have no chance of obtaining a diploma.
One solution only: grit your teeth, hang in there, get to work, finish your final year properly, get your certificate; we'll see then ...
But know that we don't always do what we like, in real life (not the one from mangas and movies).

The link https://www.cidj.com/etudes-formations-alternance/les-diplomes/bts-metiers-de-l-audiovisuel starts with this sentence "The BTS in Audiovisual Professions is preferably prepared in two years after a general baccalaureate with a scientific orientation, a technological baccalaureate STI2D or STMG, or a professional baccalaureate in the field"
