    Hello gilou71
with Ubuntu 20.04, the QuickCam Express (a very old model!) works without the need for any installation
but you have to use VLC or Guvcview
    with Cheese, it doesn’t work.
That said, the image is quite blurry!
The settings in Guvcview don’t change much.

apparently, this webcam may not be compatible with linux, but if a solution exists, I'm all ears.

      What makes you say that???
      Have you run a
      lsusb
in a terminal? What did it return?

Yes, here is the response: The command "1susb" is not found, did you mean:
The command "lsusb" from the package "usbutils" (main)

All you have to do now is follow the rest of the tutorial (link above).

    Hello,
The link takes me to the lea linux site.
    I have downloaded and unzipped "qc-usb-messenger 1.8".
The tutorial specifies that we should find an "install" file in the unzipped archive, but I haven't seen anything.

I primarily see this page where you can read this:

So, normally, your webcam should work…

      Download "cheese" (
      sudo apt install cheese
), launch the program and come back to us ;-)

As you say "I got a webcam"... are we sure it works?

If so, I don't know what else to tell you, except to go through the entire page mentioned above.

Apparently "back then" it was supposed to work, but I'm not absolutely sure about that.
Thank you very much for the time you spent helping me.
