Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out because I'm really struggling...

I retrieved my old computer (Surface Pro with Windows 10 Pro 64b) from the company, which was networked and had certain parameters controlled by our IT Manager ("some of these settings are hidden or managed by your organization").

Now that I want to use it for personal purposes and no longer see the previous message, I changed the username thinking it would help.

Big mistake because I can't set myself as an administrator...

Whenever I try to install new software or uninstall something, I always get the same message: "The requested operation requires elevation" and I can't find any solution to fix this issue.

The same goes for trying to create a new user as an Administrator; nothing works...

When I right-click on a new program to run it as an administrator, I get stuck with that damn elevation request...

Does anyone have a solution, please?

Thank you in advance for your invaluable help.

Best regards

Tonio

Hello,
You can reinstall Windows 10 from scratch https://www.malekal.com/comment-installer-windows-10/
Or
You need to be the administrator of the PC, ask the IT manager to give you admin rights, as you just need to press the Windows and R keys simultaneously, a window will appear, copy/paste this SystemPropertiesComputerName.exe then click OK, a window will appear, click on network identity check This computer is for personal use; it is not joined to a business network click OK and restart to make the message some of these settings are hidden or managed by your organization disappear.
