Microphone that mutes itself

Hello,

Today my cousin called me for help because his microphone mutes by itself.
He explained to me that after a few minutes his microphone cuts off without any action on his part.
He troubleshooted via Windows and Windows said the device was muted and reactivated it.
(I was able to assist him live via TeamViewer).

Additional information, it is a USB headset microphone.
I thought of several problems:
The first is drivers, so I updated his audio drivers as well as the Nvidia drivers (and the rest while I was at it).

The second, since it is a laptop, I looked into the power-saving settings for devices due to battery issues but found nothing. Moreover, the problem occurs even when the laptop is plugged in.

The third, sound options, I made sure that the microphone did not allow other programs to take control of the device.

The problem persists and I cannot help him further.

Can you help us?

Thank you in advance

    Hello,

-- We should also know with which dialogue software this happens..??

-- TeamViewer allows you to talk to the counterpart... is that the case too..??

-- A good test would also be to try with a real headset that is equipped with Jack 3.5 plugs for the microphone and for the headphones... USB not originally having an audio purpose, it’s an adaptation.

-- This world is a true fauna opposed to standardization... Even the Jacks 3.5 count no less than 16 versions of internal wiring...... So nothing is obvious..

-- It is also not said that this microphone would have already worked normally on this PC with this version of Windows... Nor whether this microphone has the same problem on another PC or with another version of Windows... Has it ever worked normally..??

It seems that the problem comes from the game Neverwinter that automatically cuts the microphone...

We're testing several things and I will get back to you.
