Hello,

I'm on VMware Workstation 15, Debian 9.
In VMware on Windows 10 internet works fine but not on Linux (I tried Ubuntu, Debian 10, Debian 9).
I can ping the host but there is no public IP.

Where is the problem? I don't know where and how to set the proxy if needed.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 77.0.3865.120

    Hi,

With so little information it’s hard to answer ;-\
    • What network mode on the VM: Bridge or NAT?
    • What are the IPs of the two machines (host and guest)?
    • Are you on a static IP or DHCP?
    • Do you have a proxy?
    • etc.

Normally with NAT there is nothing more to do, even with a proxy, since the host acts as the gateway.

Can you run a traceroute on the VM:
      traceroute google.fr
      and report the result.

And strangely the ping to google.fr is now working.

      Is that it?

Try configuring the proxy in your host's browser… with not too much certainty…
