Hello/Good evening, this morning I wanted to turn on my PC as usual and it says "enter password" in a blue box with a black background, even though I didn't set a password the day before. Okay, what's the brand and model of your computer?

On the Windows login screen, press and hold the Shift key while selecting Power

this is a password on the bios.
it can be easily removed:
- turn off the PC
- open the case
- look at the motherboard and there should normally be a small round battery (see below)
- just remove it for 20 / 30 min and put it back
- restart the PC and the password will be gone

I have a big doubt about the proposed solution:
-a BIOS password is only requested when one wants to access the BIOS and when it has been deliberately set by the PC administrator, which doesn't seem to be the case.
There remains the hypothesis of a Windows blockage and direct BIOS boot due to a malfunction of Windows startup, but in that case, it shouldn't presumably ask for a password. Unless it was set by a previous user.
Moreover, the solution of removing the battery does not work, to my knowledge, for all BIOSs, for security reasons.
So it's a mystery and I have no explanation. That said, there is no risk in trying this method.
