Hello,
I would like to know if the FaceTime cable is essential on an iPhone 5s since I don’t use the front camera as it is an old phone, which had a cracked screen that I just repaired.
At the end of the repair, when I turned on the phone, I got a red screen. I reopened the phone, disconnected the cable, and turned it on again, and it worked. Now my question is:
Should I put the protective cover back on the cables and screw it back as if nothing happened, or should I cut the cable in question?
Thank you for reading, and have a good day,

Hello,
On the FaceTime flex cable, you have the proximity sensor, the front camera, an ambient microphone, and the internal speaker connection.
Basically, if you don't have the FaceTime flex cable, you won't have a camera, you won't be able to make calls (no internal ear speaker, so you won't hear anyone), the screen won't turn off when you put it to your ear, and you won't be able to make calls with WhatsApp, for example.
So we can conclude that if you use the phone for calling.. The flex cable is essential.

If I put the ribbon cable under the plate, is there a risk of contact that could cause a spark or something like that?
Thank you for your reply and have a nice day :)
