Should I uninstall older versions of Gimp?

Hello,
I recently installed Gimp 2.10.12 and it works fine. However, on the older versions I had installed plugins: Resynthesier and Gmic and now I cannot install them. Hence my question: is it advisable to uninstall everything before installing a new version?

    Hi,
    I have the 2.8 from Parthas Place and the 2.10 from the editor and there you have everything you need.
    Note that Pathas's Gimp is completely clean
