Hello everyone,
I have a problem with an SD card from a TomTom Carminat GPS (Renault GPS) and I don’t understand anything about it.
Here’s the issue: I wanted to update my GPS but it’s impossible as the SD card is not recognized. I read that I should delete a file called "loopdir" (or something like that), which I did, but it didn’t change anything.
After a little email to TomTom customer service, their response is simple: the card is corrupted. I don’t know what that means but they told me to format it. I tried but I keep getting a Windows error message "cannot format". I'm losing hope!
I saw somewhere on a forum to use a software named AOMEI. I tried that. But either the card is not recognized, or it’s recognized when it’s removed, or it’s recognized and the computer crashes (it says "not responding"), or I manage to get it recognized and it talks about partitions (I don’t know what that is) and when I want to format this TomTom partition, I get error messages saying impossible to format code 106...
And here I am!
If someone kind could help me and explain in simple words what this mess is, I would be eternally grateful. I am a landscaper, not a computer scientist, and I admit this is driving me crazy.
Thank you in advance for your response.

Thank you for your reply. I am in shock, dead!!! She wasn’t very old and until now she was in good health. I will inform the family, specifically the Tomtom technical support, so they can find a solution for me quickly before I really lose my temper, because this has been going on for too long.
Do you have any idea about the causes of death? It all started when I wanted to update the map to fix the bug of I don't know what that affected all the GPS devices. It didn’t want to work. Could there be a cause-and-effect relationship?
Best regards
I'm sorry to bother you again with my SD card, but I read online that there are ways to fix a corrupted SD card. When I type "unable to format SD card," there seems to be a whole host of procedures. I haven't looked into it closely, but do you think this kind of thing works or not? Or should I just accept that it's a lost cause? I'm really troubled by this issue...
Thank you.
