My display is smaller than the screen. Solved

Hello, the display on my Sony Vaio laptop is smaller than my screen. How can I enlarge it to full screen and what is the FN key for? Sorry for my ignorance, I just purchased this laptop.

Simply right-click on the desktop, then select screen resolution, and set the laptop display as primary.
Secondly, set it to 1366 by 768
then orientation to landscape and click apply, and there you go! :)

Go to the display settings (right click on the desktop) and change your screen resolution. Try 1024x768, for example.

The fn key is a shortcut key. Used with an f4, f7, or whichever key for your PC, it will open, for example, a shortcut to configure another screen. You need to find your manual to see all the functions.

I had the same problem with my Vaio; I left it in sleep mode and when I turned it back on, I had a tiny screen with 3 cm of black on each side, BUT I found the solution :)

Go to your desktop, right-click, screen resolution, then click on detect. It will restore your screen to what it was before!

To get rid of the black bars, you need to:
1 - Go to resolution
2 - Click on advanced settings
3 - Go to graphics card
4 - Click on modify
5 - Click on install the old graphics driver

Hello everyone
if the image is smaller than the screen in high resolution with HDMI cable, you need to go through "catalyst control center" (right-click on the screen) then "my digital flat panels" then "scaling options" and finally set the overscan to 0%
