CAM Module - Can it decode without a card?

Hello,  I want to equip myself with a CAM CI module and I’m wondering if I absolutely need an active card to receive the free channels? My idea is to only use the CAM module without a card so I don’t have to pay for a subscription.  Yoann

Thank you Andy  In fact, I am abroad and I want a simple way to receive French TNT channels without having to invest too much.  The FranceSat option remains one of the best choices after all.
