Good evening everyone,
Thank you in advance for the help you can provide and the time you will dedicate to this.
Today I realized that my son's Danew DSLIDE 1013QC tablet is no longer connecting to the house's wifi network.
I want to specify that there were no issues for the past 2 months..
I've tried:
- turning it off and on
- forgetting the concerned network and then adding it again, changing the security type (instead of WEP I switched to WPA/WPA2 PSK)
- I checked the password (no errors)
- connecting via WPS on the live box (message on the box: no devices detected)
On the tablet next to the wifi symbol: it either says REGISTERED or AUTHENTICATION PROBLEM.
I want to point out that I tested the wifi at someone else's place, initially had the same problem, so I tested changing the security type (switching to WPA/WPA2 PSK), and there it worked.
Thank you for your insights.
Have a good evening,
Charlotte.

Hi,
you don't have to change the security type, it's set by the box (thankfully) and in principle, it's always WPA2 today (thankfully again), unless the LBX is very old.

Good evening,
I don't know this tablet, let's say its version of Android could be useful... But well, all Wi-Fi networks are pretty much based on the same principles... In your case, it isn't connecting.
1° The electronic circuits of the Wi-Fi may be faulty, though that's quite rare.
2° Its Android may have become corrupted due to some questionable manipulations..?? A reset should restore everything... just be sure to know the name and password before diving into that..
3° The Wi-Fi settings are misconfigured; this is the most likely issue. You need to be certain that you are on the same frequency as the LiveBox (which we don't know here), it's either 2.4 or 5 GHz... then the encryption must be the same as the LiveBox (WPA/WPA2 PSK, or other) next you have to enter the Wi-Fi key correctly, it's better to show the characters and verify well... don't confuse the O's with the 0's, the letter "O" and the number Zero for example...
Normally, on the LiveBox, there is a WPS button that does this on its own... you press it for 3 or 5 seconds, see the manual, a light blinks... and you have a maximum of 10 minutes to connect your tablet... you click on "Connect" on the tablet, it searches and eventually connects.
That's the principle.
If you are in a building or with neighboring Wi-Fi networks using... XYZ they can interfere with you, you would need to change the Wi-Fi channel on the BOX...
There may be other devices connected at your place that are assigned the same IP or something like that... obviously, there is a conflict. You need to turn off all the others to connect... then you turn them back on one by one, waiting for each to connect individually.-
No shady stuff.
WPS doesn't work, even though I connect both at the same time.
And where can I find out if I'm on 2.4 or 5 GHz?
Thanks
What surprises me is that everything was working fine a few days ago.
I have my other devices connected via Wi-Fi - smartphone, printer, and other computer - and they're working very well. -

Well, that's good, but we don't learn anything from it.
-- Before getting sick, you're healthy... breakdowns are a bit like that... unless you're partly responsible for it.
-- To know whether to use 2.4 or 5 GHz, it's not always obvious. Initially, everything exists in 2.4 GHz... 5 GHz was added later... but not everywhere.
... First, you need to know the model of the LiveBox to see if it supports 5 GHz..??
and also whether it's activated or not..??
... Then, you need to check if your tablet is capable of receiving 5 GHz... otherwise, it's necessarily on 2.4.
... The solution to clarify things is to go into the BOX's menus and give them two different names; for example, Marie and Jules, it's easy to distinguish.
