Hidden Graphics Card

Question

Hello, After scouring forums and all kinds of more or less reliable sites for days and days, I can't find an answer to my specific problem. My 940mx is in hidden devices, so I can't install the NVIDIA driver. I also have "3D video controller," which is hidden. Obviously, I can't update it through the option in the device manager. Windows update is up to date, and all my drivers are as well.  Sometimes during startup, for some unknown reason, it appears, so each time I try to install it (I’ve tested with the drivers from ACER and NVIDIA), but of course, I get a BSOD FATAL_ERROR_VIDEO_DXGKRNL in the middle of the installation and then it disappears again.  I have a backup where it was present and active, but when I return to that point, it disappears. This problem occurred right after a game of Fortnite at the end of July; I exited the game, and by chance went to the device manager, and I no longer saw it, and since then I've done multiple formats, restorations, backups, updates, and nothing works, and two weeks for customer service is quite a lot, especially since this is also my work computer. (The customer service already changed my motherboard because the display was glitching with pink, pixelated lines.)  I would like to reset everything, but I feel like at the very core of the machine, there must be some sort of bad connection or input/output issue.  Acer A515-51G purchased in January 2018 I have Windows 10 Pro (originally it had the Home version, and on both versions I could use it for a few hours) v.17763 BIOS: 1.21 I5-7200U 2.5GHz 4Go DDR4 Geforce 940MX  If anyone has any sketch of an idea, I’m all ears. My PC is 64-bit  I was able to install version 388 (from the manufacturer), and after restarting, magic, the graphics card appeared  I am installing the driver via its setup.  It tells me that the 3D Vision controller is obsolete, anyway I continue, custom installation, clean install all components  4 seconds later  FATAL_ERROR_VIDEO_DXGKRNL.  -> Reboot  -> The graphics card disappears again.  I think I have the Sheitan.

re  it's the Nvidia driver that is causing the trouble  have you tried updating the driver with Geforce Experience? >> https://www.nvidia.com/fr-fr/geforce/geforce-experience/  also check the version of DIRECT X that is installed on your pc  press Windows+R  type DXDIAG and hit OK  PS: I have a Geforce 310 graphics card on a W7, and when I update with Geforce Experience, it sometimes offers me features that are not compatible with my pc (go figure)  you need to choose "custom installation" to see the different features to install  I noticed there are updates available on Geforce Experience, I will test it and let you know what it's all about  @+  -- the radiation level is higher at the employment office than at Chernobyl

Re I have DirectX 12 on the PC. And I can't install Geforce Experience, because it doesn't detect the GPU. I had already tried this technique when it was working, but I got a BSOD and the GPU vanished. As soon as the card is used, I get a BSOD. So when it works a bit, I'm ***** on the other side. And I don't understand why it disappears every time I start up, as if the config was hiding it at every reboot. Strange.

re  How do I see that? Because in my BIOS I can’t do anything at all.   What do you mean?  Can you navigate through the different tabs in your BIOS?  For DIRECT X, it's fine for version 12  As for your WhoCrashed report, it's indeed the Nvidia driver that's the problem  A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 359.46, NVIDIA Corporation).   It's suggested to update the driver (update/new version)  @+  -- The radiation level is higher at the unemployment office than in Chernobyl.

I modified my previous message :) The driver is unavailable on the NVIDIA site 359, that's a bit outdated. I also find the Acer driver 388 old. Either way, since the GPU is not recognized, I can't do anything. No updates or setups. Could it be a registry problem? Old entries conflicting with the recent ones, leading to a full crash?

I tried to revert to Windows version 1803 (I was on 1809), it didn't change anything. At the Windows startup, I updated 2 drivers, and when I updated the 3D controller, BSOD FATAL_ERROR_VIDEO_DXGKRNL happened again on reboot, and it's hidden again the ******. I'm sending it to customer service tomorrow; I'll have the answer in 15 days.
