Favorites - Photo Software

Question

Hello everyone,

I have a photo viewing software installed by default on my computer (running Windows 10) called "Photos" (not very original :)), and I have a question regarding favorites:

Is there a way to view all the photos marked as "favorites"?
I can mark a photo as a favorite without any problem (see attached), but I can't seem to see them all one after the other

Any ideas?

Hello Quentin

The "Photos" software on W10 doesn't have the quality
and ease of Photoshop (paid), Photofiltre (free), and many others.
To answer your question:
- Right-click on a photo to incorporate and
choose "Open" with "Photos"
- At the top, click on the little heart (add to favorites)
- On the left, click on "see all photos"
- You will display a page with three folders and various images.
- Under the "Favorites" folder, click on "Show all photos in 'Favorites'".
This will show you all the photos placed in
this folder.

Sure, thank you very much for your help!

But I still need a bit more :)
I'm on the "View all photos" page, but I don't see the 3 folders you mentioned (especially the "Favorites").
I'm sending you a screenshot.

Otherwise, since the "Photos" software doesn't seem very effective, do you have any simple software to recommend that allows me to view my photos and organize them (without necessarily editing them like with PhotoFiltre)?

Hello,
For your issue with the "Photos" software on W10, I don't know. I don't use it.
However, to simply reorganize your photos and sort them in the order that suits you, the software
FastStone Image Viewer (found on CCM) is simple and in French.
I have been using it for three years, solely to organize my photos and rename them.
It has other functions, but I don't master them.
You will find tutorials on the internet.

1) - If you don't have the "Favorites" folder in "Photos", it's because you haven't put any photos in it as I told you.
You need to click on the little heart (add to "Favorites") at the top
I just tried again, I deleted all the photos in "Favorites" and the folder no longer exists.
If I add just one photo, the "Favorites" folder is recreated automatically.
2) - For free photo software, there are many. It all depends on what you want to do with the photos:

Either resize them, adjust the lighting and color…. etc... (there are many other possibilities)
Or just view them.

3) - Among the free software options, there are The Gimp,
PhotoFiltre, Xnview, FastStone Image Viewer
(also recommended by chocolat44), Paint and
Paint Net (different from one another).. etc...

4) - Note that you can create one or
several folders of photos that you will simply view.
Suppose that in "Images" on "This PC" you create a folder called "Holidays 2018"
- You drag all your photos there.
- The folder being open automatically at the top above "Management", the mention "Image Tools" is displayed in yellow.
- Then click on "Management" and "Slideshow" to view your
photos.

Conclusion
For photos, there are many software options and each of us uses the one that suits them based on the needs sought.
