Projector does not play MP4 videos from USB drive

Hello,

I have been given a projector for work. I don't have the right connections for my Asus laptop (with Windows 10). Connecting my computer with an adapter wouldn't do any good anyway, as the projector is only compatible with XP and Windows 7.

So I'm using a USB stick instead. It's detected, the files are too, I can view images without any problem by clicking on their icons. However, when it comes to a video icon (MP4), it displays a Playback impossible message. I've tried all possible sources, nothing works.

All my work for the new school year is ruined if I can't watch the films on the board. The new school year is approaching, and I'm starting to panic...

My heartfelt thanks to those who will try to help me.

Hi,

Don't you have an HDMI output on your laptop?

Does the projector not have an HDMI input?

Excuse me, fabul, I just found a photo of HDMI on the internet: indeed, there is 1 port on the projector, and a port on my computer as well. Do I need to go buy a cable quickly, then? What is this connection for?
