Hello,
I have been a network administrator at a company for 1 month and I have implemented a password change for all domain users via AD on Windows Server 2003 R2. For most workstations, this is not an issue, as users change their passwords themselves with some restrictions set via AD.
However, one workstation is causing a problem, (of course). When the user changes their password, the client workstation displays the following error message:
The configuration information could not be read from the domain controller because the computer is not available or access has been denied.
I tried disabling the firewalls without success, and I also do not have antivirus on either machine (the client workstation and the server).
I can access the server via the client workstation, and the access to the server is done with the new password we provided via the server as admin. However, the user session login is done with the user's old password.
(To summarize, the user has two different passwords for one account: - 1 for the session and 1 for server access)
I do not understand why.
Hoping to have been clear, if anyone has an idea, please let me know,
Thank you for your help.
Have a nice day.

Hello
Since you stated in an alert that you resolved the issue by yourself, it would be nice of you to share the solution with us.
This could, who knows, help other users facing this type of problem.
Thank you in advance for them.

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
