Table of contents printing issue

Hello,

I’ve finished my thesis and I want to print it. It includes a table of contents that updates automatically, but when I go to the print tab and check the print preview: the table of contents only shows "2"s next to my titles...
And when I cancel and go back to my document, it has changed my table of contents to only display page number 2 next to my titles.

I can’t find a solution,
could someone please help me???

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 65.0.3325.181

I just had the same problem; it took me some time to find the solution.
Go to file, options, display, print options, then check "update fields before printing."

Hello,

First of all, a table of contents is a field.
A field in Word does not update by itself as you seem to imply (unless it's certain special fields).
A field updates:
- either manually (F9 or click on the Update Table button)
- or upon opening a document
- or at printing (including print preview).

So, it's what you see at the moment you want to print.

This is a not very well-known bug because it only occurs in certain specific cases, particularly when the table of contents was inserted right when the document was created. In principle, you just need to delete it and recreate it. Have you tried?
