Hello

I have a Compaq Presario CQ71 64-bit PC that won't update to Windows 10 (KB4023814)
it has been struggling with updates for several months, but now I'm failing repeatedly

at the end of the download for the update, I get an error message which is "0xc1900208" .... it also mentions Nero

however, I don't have Nero on the PC (maybe it is still in the registry)

so I was advised to do the following:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

I run these commands in an elevated command prompt

but they do not execute ...

errors:

'DSIM.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

can someone help me????

Here are two versions of delays...
Moreover, a new version will be released in April, version 1803, you will be three versions behind.
Wait for this update to be released to try the update tool again, just in case it works.

The best option is to reinstall Windows 10 directly on the new version.

Follow this tutorial that explains how to install Windows 10: how to install Windows 10.
All the steps are provided from A to Z with advice at the end to secure Windows 10.

The main steps are:
If the USB drive doesn't work, try making another one with Rufus: how to download Rufus - see this tutorial for details: how to create a USB installation drive for Windows
  • Let yourself be guided to install Windows 10.
  • Choose customize (not upgrade)
  • During the partition phase, select the main partition and format it.
  • Follow the Windows installation procedure using the tutorial mentioned above.

Once Windows is installed, I recommend following this advice to properly configure and use Windows: Advice after reinstalling Windows.

The scan went well "the operation was successful"

however, the restore failed "the source files are not found"

The solution is to reinstall Windows 10, as indicated in message #3 after the 1803 update was released.

Hello,

'DSIM.exe' is not recognized as an internal command

It's DISM.exe and not DISM.exe

After that, you followed these instructions: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-34635085-erreur-0xc1900208-mise-a-jour-windows-10#10
I doubt that it will solve your problem.

What version do you have to start with?
Press Windows + R
type winver and OK.
Is the version 1703?
