Linux issue on TV via HDMI Solved

Question

Hello, I'm trying to set up Netflix on my TV using an HDMI cable, but I'm on Ubuntu 16.04 and I can't get the image on my TV; I only see the Ubuntu wallpaper with the centered circle, which is properly aligned... I attempted to change the format of the secondary screens, but nothing works; I can only get the desktop background image.
Do you know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Configuration: Linux / Firefox 56.0

Ok thanks, that's exactly what happened. In the end, I cloned the screens and then it worked on the TV without any problems... I didn't get this story about having a distinct image on each of the screens nor this story about dragging the windows...

Hi,

Are you sure it's not what's called an "extended" screen? ;-)

If you drag your window to the left/right outside the frame, does it not appear on that additional screen?

Hello.. I misspoke, I should say that I’m posting on behalf of my daughter because I don’t have time to watch Netflix... I watched it because while reading my message, my daughter said to me: That’s not it, dad, and I was about to correct it when I read this message.. Here’s what’s happening in reality and this time tested by me...

First, she had configured the image too large on the secondary screen, I fixed that and now I have everything on the desktop properly framed.. However, when you click on something like Firefox, it still shows the desktop image and its icons instead of the requested page.. Similarly, the Netflix image or anything else only appears on the computer screen but on the TV it’s always the desktop... I have a PC with Windows 7 and I connected it to the TV and it works, but it’s the one I use for work, so there’s no way I’m leaving that one for gaming :)
I’m starting to have doubts about Linux working well with certain sites; I remember she already had issues with My Canal...
