Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Dell Dimension 3000 PC.

Since yesterday, the light on my PC keeps flashing orange. No matter how much I press the power button, nothing happens.
What could cause this problem?

I need your help

Thank you
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

    Hi

I just spent a day on this problem
    Summary:
It works again but here’s everything I did:
    - changed the power supply to a Corsair 500
    - replaced the 3V battery
    - cleaned the entire board (without disassembling it) with compressed air
    - removed all the cards (video, memory, etc.) and put them back
    - straightened the pins of a front USB port that were bent
cost: 57 for the PSU and 12 euros for the can of air and battery

I tested the old power supply again, it works. Finally, the new one is quieter

I therefore recommend doing all of this, starting with the easiest and cheapest, and finishing with the power supply.

Good luck and curse that flashing orange light.

I had the cursed orange light problem again in 2015, and while looking for a solution, I came across my post from 2011. This time, I started by straightening some pins of a front USB port (the first one on the left on my XPS430) that were bent.
The PC restarted right away with a nice blue light.
Time spent: 2 minutes and 0 euros.
I sealed that port with a piece of tape.
      And that's that...
