updating Photoshop 7 drivers on Windows 10

Question

Good evening Since the last update of the PC to Windows 10, I can no longer open Photoshop 7. It was working fine just before the update, is there a solution? Thank you

Hello,  I heard that Microsoft made a pretty significant update recently or will be doing so...  Windows 10 is quite the anchor when it comes to relatively old software, not even that old, or other small free programs; it's even the Windows 10 trial that definitively made me angry with Windows...  Windows 10 is a recent OS and PS7 (Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 Update or Elements 7?) is not and far from it, and there had already been patches and updates in the past, maybe that’s the reason why this time................. Hello, "the important update" had to be made because it gives me the same feeling as "element 2" did a few years ago with XP or Vista? Aside from buying new software photoshop, is there another solution? A competitor to Photoshop? For now, I'm sticking with Windows; what solutions are equivalent to this software? PS: I also have Lightroom to manage my library and my Raw files, but for me, it's only complementary to Photoshop. Thank you for everything Dominique

A competitor of Photoshop?  To be honest, not really when it comes to the latest Photoshop versions... However, compared to Photoshop 7, GIMP is far superior. I have an ancient CS4 on one of my Windows computers that I hardly use, and my other computer is running Linux (Ubuntu for me), which I use a lot more, so I only use GIMP, and everything works very well. There’s not much that Photoshop can do that GIMP, with a few enhancements, cannot do... A significant advantage is that, even though it works best on Linux and is by far the fastest and most responsive, it remains Photoshop's main competitor and for free, no less. Since we rarely use the full range of possibilities of an old CS4 like mine, just as we don't always utilize all the potential of GIMP, they ultimately balance out. Furthermore, more and more professionals are switching to GIMP, including my brother for professional use... Of course, the basic GIMP, although already very complete, does not include everything that is sometimes necessary, and you need to add a few useful scripts and plugins...  IMHO, I believe you would greatly benefit from switching to GIMP, especially coming from the very outdated Photoshop 7. If you absolutely want to replace it with software of GIMP's caliber or another Adobe product, you will have to shell out some money, which alone can tip the scales...  Try it out, and then you’ll see, but I believe you won't be disappointed... ;)  - Download GIMP from the official site...  - Download GIMP from CCM.  - Download GIMP from Partha's place, which is much more complete in terms of plugins and scripts and also has a more aesthetically pleasing customizable interface (Photoshop style). Hello, I tried "Gimp" and I'm very surprised, it seems to be awesome, you were right to suggest it to me. I will therefore learn to use it. Apparently, it works a bit like Photoshop, I have already tried a few images... Thank you Dominique
