Removing paragraph marks

Hello,

This afternoon I have a problem that I can't solve: whenever I work on Word, paragraph marks appear in my text even though I haven't requested them and the "paragraph mark" box is not checked in the options of the tools pane. Can you help me resolve this issue? Thank you in advance.

    Ctrl+Shift+8 (not on the numeric keypad) or click on ¶ in the Paragraph group of the Home tab
