    Hello,
    The Versatile 700 being a Tractor.... ======>

I assume you are talking about an Alcatel Versatis 700 ?

If your subscription with Orange includes telephony via the fiber box, for this cordless phone to work, you need to connect the base to the back of the box to the designated socket.
    What issue are you experiencing?

    Hello Balladur

    Thank you for your response.
Yes, it is indeed an Alcatel phone. However, I already have another phone of the same kind and brand (the display no longer works) that functions well without being connected to the box or any phone jack. Why does this one need to be connected to the box when the other works fine without any connection? Moreover, I don't understand how it works. When I called Orange, they told me it’s because of the fiber.
So I don't understand why this one needs to be connected to the box.

    Thank you for your response
    Best regards
    Domi

Some boxes have a DECT function and therefore do not need a wired connection between the base and the box.
In fact, it is the box itself that serves as the base for the telephone handsets.

In this case, the handsets need to be paired with the box.
What is the exact model of this box (Livebox4?), so I can see if I can find the pairing procedure.

What are the references of the phone that no longer works (display is dead)?

This concerns the Livebox 4 and the Versatis D 300 duo phone.
        Thank you.

The procedure for the Livebox 4:
    https://assistance.orange.fr/telephone/telephone-par-internet/toutes-les-livebox/installer-et-utiliser/associer-le-telephone-a-la-livebox/telephone-hd-associer-a-la-livebox-4_188727-719827
For the handset (if needed) see the manual on page 17

Edit: To make the search easier, I think it would be advisable to unplug the Versatis 700 base from the power supply during the pairing with the Livebox.

As for your Versatis D300s whose screens are no longer working, it is possible that their batteries are simply worn out, too weak to provide the necessary amount of energy.
Replacing them with compatible batteries (AAA - 1.2 V - 550 mA) could give them a second life.
