No text with paint.net

Hello,

I can't seem to use the text function in Paint.NET. I can see the blinking box with the cross inside on my layer, and I have a font selected in the toolbar (Arial, for your information). When I try to type text, the box moves to the right, but no text appears. I've tried with a different font, but it hasn't worked. I've checked that the fonts exist in the Windows Fonts folder, and they are editable?

Hello

The text cursor and a vertical blinking bar - the "square" is to move the text - is the primary color different from the background? Please check that the color's transparency is set to 255.
