Shortcut symbol in PowerPoint SOS!!!

Hello,

I'm desperately looking for a way to create keyboard shortcuts for symbols in PowerPoint.

For example, I would like the action CTRL+1 to automatically insert the alpha symbol (α), which would save me from having to go through the symbol browser every time...

I don't have this problem in Word; I just go to "Insert," "Advanced Symbols," "Keyboard Shortcut"... But I can't find this option in PowerPoint.

    You didn't find it because... it doesn't exist! There's no way in PowerPoint to assign a keyboard shortcut to a character any more than to a function.

    Now, for Greek characters, you can use the ISO codes with the ALT key. Finally, what I'm saying applies to Windows; I don't know about Mac....

    Just for your information, for Windows, alpha is done with Alt+0945.

    Now, if you enter these characters in formulas, you can use Auto-Maths.

      I found a workaround for those who are interested

      --> Tools --> AutoCorrect

      It's not possible to do key combinations, but you can create an AutoCorrect text/symbol by figuring it out a bit.
