Create new layer

Hello everyone,

I'm using AutoCad and I'm unable to create a new layer. The command is "blocked" and does not create a new layer when I click on it.
I have to go through one of the few files where I can still do it and copy an object into the layer I'm interested in, then paste it to have the famous new layer.

Good evening and thank you for the reply, but since then I had an update for AutoCAD 2016 and the problem has not occurred again actually.
