GPS mappy ulti S546

Question

I’m looking to update my GPS and from what I’m finding on this forum I’m being told to download easy Doc Merge or productivityboss.com etc.. Apparently these programs don’t meet my needs. A novice in this area and wary of saving just anything, could someone help me with a step-by-step guide? Thanks

But... still.  
Isn't there another way to update a Mappy GPS (I bought it second-hand and didn't have the user manual) for free via the internet?? other than downloading useless software and then having to struggle to uninstall them??  
Honestly... I’m willing to search.. to understand metaphors and other quotes... but I would have appreciated more technical help than being left alone with these solutions which -it seems to me- are not.

Good evening and thank you for your reply and your links.
So I followed the instructions... (GPS connected) everything was fine except:
After installing Naviextras Toolbox the following message appears
"service currently unavailable. please try again later"
I uninstalled, reinstalled the toolbox and the same message appears.
Stuck!
do you have any idea what could prevent the toolbox from functioning?
It's late, but I'm finishing with this message.
