Using a guitar amp as a speaker

Question

Hello,  I organized a party with friends in a rented hall, and I would like to know if I can use my electric guitar amp as a speaker so that we can all listen to music, and for example be able to connect a phone or an mp3 player to it. The brand of my amp is "Samick" and it does not have jack inputs, only two sockets, one for the guitar and one for a special headphone. I am ready to buy additional equipment.  Thank you.

Hello, You can give it a try, but the mic input of your amp favors certain frequencies and sometimes adds a bit of distortion...maybe not great for music, but if you have tone controls, you can try to correct it.  -- I call a spade a spade *      *in French in the text

Hello.  And test with the portable volume / amp nearly at zero, otherwise watch out for the shock to the ears! :) Indeed, the input impedance of a guitar amp is about 500 kΩ mono and the headphone output stereo is 32 Ω. So as you can see, double problem = the mono/stereo one and the impedance issue  You would need >>> a male 3.5 mm stereo adapter to male mono XLR.  But it’s hard to find on the market, so it's up to you to make it = 1 male 3.5 mm stereo plug . . . 1 male XLR plug and a piece of shielded cable with a diameter of 3 mm with 2 conductors + ground and 2 resistors 1 kΩ 1/4 watt  And for the impedance issue, a special adapter.  http://www.tlsafrance.fr/transformateur-adaptateur-d-impedance-ma-100-15-monacor,fr,4,MA-10015.cfm  There might be cheaper options, so look for them but respect the input impedance of 600 Ω.
