Google Chrome missing from default programs

Hello, here is my problem;
I reinstalled Windows 7 on my new computer, reinstalled Google Chrome, and then I noticed something: when trying to open image files using the "open with" option, Google Chrome, although recognized as the default browser, is not in the list of programs, instead, Internet Explorer is still there....
This option was useful for opening certain files like gifs, so I don't understand why it hasn't replaced IE as expected, and anyway I don't like Explorer ^^'

Here's my question: does anyone know how to get Chrome back in the recommended programs list and replace IE with it in that list?
