Hello,

I'm reaching out because I'm stuck. I installed VMware and VirtualBox, and despite everything, I have no network on these virtual machines. However, I do have an IP from the DHCP. I reset the box to factory settings and even my PC (I'm crazy) but nothing works. Still this triangle on the network. I've tried asking for a new IP from the box, but it doesn't help. I have 2 network cards, and that doesn't work either. In short, I need help.
Thank you

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 43.0

Hello,

Firstly, if you have VMware and VirtualBox installed simultaneously, it can mess up the network.

Then, regarding the virtualization software, you need to choose a bridged type for an IP allocation via the DHCP from the router, just like for a physical machine.

What OS are you using for the host and the guest?

And when the VM is running, what IP is allocated?

A 169... indicates no visible DHCP

Even with just one, I have the same issue. It's properly bridged and the IP is 192.168.....
It's frustrating, I want to set up a Linux VM for a VPN but I can't, I'm stuck. Oh yes, I'm with Orange and the address 192.168.1.1 is inaccessible.

Windows 7 as a guest and Windows 10 as a host, and I also want to add Debian.

You need the parameters of your PC and the VM to compare the addresses, such as:

ipconfig/all

On your physical machine, you have virtual cards for VirtualBox and VMware, so both software are indeed present.

And for the VM information, these are not its parameters, but those of the physical machine duplicated.

Yes, there are both, I just deleted VMware and yes, there are indeed the virtual network adapters.
For the VM, if I took the information from the VM correctly.

In the VM, there is network card 2 IPv4 Address: 192.168.1.13
which is exactly the same as the physical machine

and there are VMware virtual cards.

I no longer have the virtual VMWARE cards but I still have the same problem. Why is this happening to me when I never had this issue before? The box?
