HW-H430 soundbar is not working

Hello, I was just given the Samsung HW-H430 soundbar, which I can't get to work with my Samsung UE39EH5003W television. This TV does not have wireless functionality. The only connection possible at the back of the TV is a jack socket labeled "service." Once the connection is made, no sound comes out of the soundbar, only from the TV.
The soundbar has only a jack input or an optical input. No HDMI.
Do you have a solution?

Hello,

In the TV audio menu, select "external speakers".

I've already tried, but the TV tells me that I don't have access to this option.
I wonder if my TV (purchased in 2011) is too old for the BDS model...
