Question

Hello,
I would like to open a new web page (a site saved in my favorites) in a new tab.

To do this, I am forced to go through 2 steps:

to open a blank new tab
and then open the web page.
If I don't do it this way, opening a web page triggers a new window opening in the same tab, which is not convenient for me.

My question is how to open my web page directly in a new tab, bypassing step 1.

If it’s possible, what settings do I need to adjust in the options of IE7?

In the internet: tools -> internet options -> settings (tab category) -> and under "open links from other programs in: -> you choose: a new tab in the active window

and there you go

I looked through the options, but the simplest thing seems to be: right-click on your bookmark and open it in a new tab.

If it's already checked, either do it like kristov34 or hold down ctrl while clicking on the link, or click with the middle button of the mouse (wheel) --  the bug is in front of the computer

Otherwise, you always have the option to change your browser. I believe Avant Browser or Maxthon, which are IE-like, can do this. After that, in Firefox or IE, I have never found an option to do so.

Google announces that with IE7 pro, it is possible to browse by tab as I was looking for I just installed it and it works my problem is then solved thanks to everyone

In Firefox, using the Tab Mix Plus extension, you can choose to open bookmarks directly in a new tab, as well as for the search bar.  I'm looking for this option in Chrome, but I haven't found it yet.

If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, go to your favorites and click on it with the wheel click, and it will open your favorite link directly in a new tab.

I had uninstalled Google Chrome to reinstall it. And indeed, I noticed in the menu at the top right (the three bars) the option "restart Chrome in Windows 8 mode." I clicked on it, and it opened in new tabs. By clicking again on "restart Chrome in desktop mode," we get there ;)
