Question

Hello I can't figure out how to add checkboxes in Excel 2007. While browsing the forum, I saw that I needed to click on the form, then on checkboxes... but I can't find it... Thank you for your help

I was also looking to put a checkbox in Excel 2007. Thank you for the information, but I would like to know if it’s possible to put a checkbox in a cell. Let me explain; I’m creating an Excel table, and I would like to have a column with only checkboxes, so that I can use a filter to display the rows that are checked or not. Is this possible and how should I do it?

You need to display the Developer tab, then we find the Excel 2003 menu to create a control box...

Hello,
To insert a checkbox or an option button, you need to select the Developer tab, then in Controls you click Insert and choose either from Form Controls or ActiveX Controls the checkbox.
You then need to link this checkbox to a cell to output a true or false value to show whether it's true or false.
I hope I explained myself correctly.

Hello,

I can't take a screenshot of this post. I'll try to explain it to you. When you have inserted your checkbox, to link a cell with it, you right-click on your checkbox. You choose format control from the context menu. In the Control tab, there's linked cell, you enter your cell in the field, e.g., B10, or you use the associated button at the end of the field to search, and you confirm by clicking OK. Once your checkbox is activated or not, your cell becomes TRUE or FALSE. From there, you can associate a formula by referencing your cell.

Okay, it works very well, but what I originally wanted is for the checkbox to be fully part of the cell.
What I want is for column E, for example, cells E3, E4, E5, etc., until the end of the table, to contain a checkbox so that in cell E3 I have my checkbox and I just need to click on it or not, whereas your solution displays a checkbox that you can place anywhere you want, and when you check it, it shows true or false in E3. I'm not sure if you understand what I want, but that's what I want, thank you.

You know, it’s difficult to understand you because your language is different from mine. I’m doing my best, but I believe I’ve understood what you wanted. It seems to me that you want to place a checkbox in a cell (e.g., E3), and you want the following cells, E4, E5, etc., to each also have their own checkbox. You can add as many checkboxes as you want in your sheet. You can even copy and paste to go faster. I don’t see where the problem is. You can place a checkbox in a cell and refer to that same cell. However, you cannot make your selection using the associated button at the end of the field in the control format.

Sorry, I’m not a computer pro and I don’t know all the terms. I’m going to try one last time to explain:
when you write something in a cell, e.g., 123, it becomes part of the cell; after that, I can select the cell with others
while what I’m doing (maybe I’m making a mistake somewhere) makes a checkbox appear like an image that I can move around, well I can at least put it on top of my cell, but if I sort my table, the checkbox won’t follow the cell...
Do you understand better now? If my checkbox were like text, I wouldn’t have any issues. What should I do? Am I forgetting something???
