Connect PC to Liveplug Orange

Hello,

Having recently installed fiber at my home, due to wiring issues, my Orange "Play" livebox is located far from my living room. The technician sold me a liveplug, claiming that this expensive device would help my laptop better connect to my box's network. However, I think he simply connected it to my TV box (which I don't even watch). My laptop has very poor wifi reception from my living room.

My question is: how can I configure my laptop to connect to the liveplug wifi relay instead of the livebox located at the other end of the house?

(I'm on Windows 8.1)

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help

Best regards

Good evening, are these Liveplugs wifi or HD?

If HD, you just need to connect the Ethernet cable from the Liveplug to the box and then from the Liveplug (2) to your PC.

If wifi, then you need to connect the two Liveplugs
- one to the box
- the other to your living room
then connect the Ethernet cable from the Liveplug to the laptop.

Best regards, Okanlo

It's a Liveplug Wi-Fi solo, I only have one Liveplug box.
So if I understood correctly, to benefit from the Wi-Fi relayed by this box, I have to plug in an Ethernet cable?? This device is therefore useless?
The magic of fiber optic from Orange has a bitter taste...

Your liveplug box is in your living room, then?

Absolutely, the technician sold me this as a device that extends the Wi-Fi in the room at the same level as the box located at the other end. They had fiber optic installed for me so that I could have a speed of 19 Mbps in my main room or have a normal speed with a cable...

Hello

"how to configure my PC to capture the liveplug Wi-Fi relay"

Uh, it's not a relay...
It only captures the Wi-Fi from the box to send it to its Ethernet ports.

I would have suggested moving the liveplug to your room, but if your PC can't capture the Wi-Fi there, there's little chance the liveplug will do better...
