Remove text highlighting

Good evening!!
My small problem is as follows:
I inserted an image, which I placed behind the text. The issue is that the text has a white background, which is impossible to remove (at least from everything I've tried)
So I would like to know if there is a solution to this problem, so that the image is not hidden by large white bands!

    Hello Sophie,

    The white background is not on the paragraphs but on the text; otherwise, you wouldn't have white stripes but a white rectangle.

    Try this:
    - Select the text and go to the "Borders and Shading" dialog box,
    - click on the "Shading" tab,
    - at the bottom right, select "Text" (instead of "Paragraph"),
    - reselect "No color".
