Hello,

When trying to create a PDF file from another PDF document with PDF Creator, I encounter the following problem displayed in the program's log at the time of creating the file by clicking "print" in the "File" tab of Adobe Reader:

2015-04-28 17:40:28.1581 [Error] pdfforge.PDFCreator.Core.Jobs.GhostscriptJob.RunJobWork: Ghostscript execution failed: Scanning C:\Windows\Fonts for fonts... 521 files, 329 scanned, 302 new fonts.

2015-04-28 17:40:28.7111 [Error] pdfforge.PDFCreator.Core.Jobs.AbstractJob.RunJob: Executing Ghostscript failed

I have already uninstalled and then reinstalled the program to see...with no results. I don’t think I need to use PDF Architect which is offered for download during the installation of PDF Creator. Am I wrong?

Thank you for your help

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 37.0

Hello,

you are not mistaken, installing PDF Architect is not necessary to create your PDF.
It is the Ghostscript module that is causing a problem.
It can be downloaded separately https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/bureautique/11077-ghostscript/
but normally it is unnecessary. It comes with PDFCreator.

What I don’t quite understand is why you are going through Adobe Reader to “print” to PDF. Can’t you do it from PDFCreator?

What I don't quite understand is why you're using Adobe Reader to "print" to PDF.

I sometimes do it like that when I want to, for example, create a new PDF with only 3 or 4 pages extracted from an original PDF that has several dozen pages
But it doesn't crash as a result.

Thank you both for your contributions.

@C-Claire: I do as Hombourgeois: I "naturally" open my .pdf document by double-clicking on it, then I go through the "print" function in Adobe and select the PDF Creator printer. What’s strange is that I had already managed to create documents from PDF Creator a few days ago, but since Monday I have the impression that it’s because of Ghostscript. I did download it separately, but I haven't seen any change...
So we can also open PDF Creator and "open" the document in the application to do the same thing from Adobe?
