Hello,
I am using MAC Office 2011. When I try to insert a comment in a document or even delete old comments or additions, my Word shuts down automatically. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, but to no avail.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Have a good day!
Alexandre

    Hello

Try to do a repair of Word instead.
Since I don't have a Mac, here is the path under Windows PC: Start / Programs / Microsoft Office / Tools / Repair
    Look for the equivalent

    Hello,
First of all, thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, this solution doesn't work either. I am still unable to open a document from another computer, a download, or anything else. I feel like my computer doesn't recognize the external file...
    Thanks again!

    Good evening,

Generally speaking, uninstalling and reinstalling is of no use because Word keeps the settings (both good and bad).

The first thing to do is: close Word, rename your normal.dotm file (or whatever it's called on Mac) and try again.

    Hello,
Thank you for your response. I am still continuing my research, as it is not working either... The only difference when opening with normal.dotm is that a blank document opens without closing the others that are already opened.
    Thank you very much!

    Hello,
Actually, I renamed my document with this: "normal.dotm".
    Is that correct?
    Thank you!

No. You need to rename the existing Normal template provided with Word. For example, name it OldNormal. And you do this while Word is closed.

A little more explanation here, especially about its location.
      https://wordmvp.com/Mac/MacWordNormal.html

      It's in English.

      Hello,
I've tried several times and it still doesn't work... In fact, my Word works great, except when I download a document that contains comments or when I try to write comments. Really strange...
      Thanks again!
