Hello,
How do I print a PDF file double-sided with 2 pages per sheet in A4 format?
This question has been asked before, but I haven't found a clear and satisfactory answer.
I am trying the following printer settings (HP LaserJet 100 MFP Pro):
2 pages per sheet
manual double-sided
Result: 2 sheets per page are printed; however, the double-sided printing
is not working; it is cancelled on the printer.
Another issue is the choice between the printer settings and
those provided by Adobe Reader X (or Word possibly).
Does anyone have a simple and effective solution?
I have searched for how to merge 2 PDF pages onto one page;
my searches (PDF creator, doPDF, etc.) have not been fruitful,
I have not succeeded in simply creating a PDF document where the pages of the original document were merged two by two.
Here is what I would like to achieve finally on the printer (or a file).
original PDF print double-sided (or file) or booklet style
------- --------
| 1 | --> | 1 2 | recto --> | n 1 | recto
| 2 | --> | 3 4 | verso --> | 2 n-2 | verso
| 3 | --> | 5 6 | recto --> | n-3 3 | etc.
| 4 | --> | 7 8 | verso --> | 4 n-4 |
|etc.| --> | etc. |
best regards.

The duplex function requires 2 pages and the option to put 2 pages per sheet as well..
So you need to send 4 pages for only 2x2 in duplex...
Use PDFCreator to create a page sequence in duplication. Try the print sequence 1,1,2,2.. I think it should work (possibly mix up the order to get the right layout)
As far as I remember, the "booklet printing" function in Acrobat Reader prints in duplex. Have you tried checking "fit" so that your A4 pages are reduced?
