Numericable Box Installation - Emta Modem

Hello,

I subscribed to the Istart package via Numericable (internet + TV package). I just received the Emta 100 mega modem to install.
I connected the TV cable to the antenna socket.
I naturally plugged in the power supply.
I did not connect the telephone cable as I don't need it since I didn't subscribe to a plan with a telephone service.
I also did not connect the ethernet cable to a computer because I only have a tablet that serves as a netbook, so there's no ethernet connection.
The box lights up, but only the power and wifi lights are steady. The other lights for cable and internet are flashing.

I called Numericable and they are not helping me; of course, they offer to send a technician for 50€...

Could you tell me what you think?
Is it necessary to connect the ethernet cable? Or is it not mandatory?
Should I connect the telephone cable?

Thank you very much!!!

Configuration: iPhone / Safari 7.0

    Hello!

The iStart package is a triple play package, with Internet + television + telephony, yes. There hasn't been a double play package for several years. Single play packages do exist, but they are only for TV... That said, there's no need to connect a landline phone if you don't have one. The same goes for Ethernet connections.

What brand and model of NC modem do you have? EMTA is not a brand, it's a generic acronym that refers to all cable-phone modems in the world (Enhanced Multimedia Terminal Adapter)...

On your TV, do you have the channels MCM or Canal+ Sport on TNT?
