Java installation issue Solved

Question

Hello,
I have a problem with the installation of Java. I formatted the main partition and reinstalled Windows XP SP2, then the various updates. When I try to launch the Java installer, the following error appears: "Error applying transforms. Verify that the paths to the transform are valid." That's it.
I'm not a computer expert, please help me.

Configuration: Windows XP SP2 Internet Explorer 7.0 P4 3.2GHz motherboard P4P800

I found this solution that works for me

To get around the problem, you need to restart the installation in:
C:\Documents and Settings\"user"\application data\sun\java\ and run: jre1.6.0_01.msi (if this is not the right path, search for the file).

The installation boxes are in English, but in the end the JAVA interface is in French.

To work around the problem, you need to restart the installation in:

I have a problem with installing Java (latest version, 6). Everything goes well during the installation but at the end, this message appears: bin\java-rmi.exe. Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match. Then another message appears: A problem occurred with the windows installer package. A program being run during the installation did not complete successfully. Contact your support service or the package distributor.

How can I proceed to get rid of these messages and complete the installation successfully?
