Hello,
Could someone tell me the difference between a "digital terrestrial television (DTT) demodulator" and a "DTT decoder"? Is it just a matter of vocabulary or do they serve different purposes???
Thank you. This is urgent, as I need to seize an opportunity.
Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 24.0

TNT adapter, (= Digital Terrestrial TV) "official" term, or demodulator or simply demo in the jargon, or terminal, or receiver or tuner or decoder (unless decryption) it's identical, what matters most is that they comply with the HD TNT standard (DVB-T) meaning technically with MPEG 4 tuner (the SD terrestrial MPEG 2 standard should be abandoned according to the CSA by the end of 2015 to make way for future DVB-T2...)
Same for Satellite Digital TV (DVB-S/S2 standard, no relation to TNT), but here we mainly talk about satellite demo or sat terminal knowing that the simple Canal Ready models, SD, (i.e. MPEG 2) will soon, in 2014, be unusable on the SD HD channels of Canalsat via Astra, then it will be the turn of the Tntsat SD and Fransat SD demos, (via Eutelsat 5WA) expected to be obsolete by the end of 2015..
In conclusion, for the choice it's not by the given name, but by the only characteristics of the integrated tuners that decide whether a purchase is relevant or not.
In this regard, be careful not to be sold an obsolete product, approaching end of life.., this is currently the case on the internet, very tempting prices, with SD Canal Ready terminals (for Tntsat SD or Canalsat SD or C+ SD)....!! soon good for the landfill..
Finally, to avoid making a bad choice, it should be noted that only the Fransat HD demos guarantee the playback of all 25 free SD and HD channels exclusively via Eutelsat 5...

I understand well, but I don't know how to do it. Should a satellite installation specialist be brought in?
