Power button stuck

Question

Hello, the power button on my iPhone 4 has gotten stuck on its own without me even dropping it. I've disassembled it several times to check if there was anything obstructing it, but everything works perfectly; it's not the flex cable. I have the impression that the button no longer makes proper contact with the flex cable. So I removed the button and reassembled my phone, and pressing directly on the flex cable works, but it’s getting annoying. I wanted to know if I was missing a piece or if there's a specific way to reposition the flex cable.

Hello everyone, to be honest it’s not irreparable. I don’t know if Apple does it on purpose or what... But if your power button is stuck, just take apart your iPhone and you only need to slightly loosen the screws that hold the plastic piece in front of the button (without removing the screws, though). I don’t know if I’m being very clear, but I hope you understand ^^

It's not the tablecloth, but the button is intentionally designed to sink in after a while and no longer make contact; that's the sad life of Apple devices.  --

I don't really understand how you can press on the ribbon without the power button...
Are you sure the ribbon isn't broken? I still recommend changing the ribbon because normally after reinstalling a power button, there shouldn't be any issues.

I have exactly the same problem for three days. Suddenly, I realized that the button was stuck (thankfully there's no contact, otherwise the phone would be off!) So I'm using a feature on the iPhone to put it to sleep (assistive touch), but it's not practical. Have you had any other explanations for this problem?

The button is made of steel, so it doesn't move.

Hello.

I opened the casing, then I gently slipped a thin knife to pry the button away from the tape, and I passed the needle through the side where the loop is between the two. I tried several times without removing my knife until it worked. Then I removed my knife and cut the needle as short as possible with cutting pliers. However, it is now more difficult to press, but it works!

Hello, regarding the power button, if it gets stuck, meaning there’s no feedback! It’s very simple, if it’s not the ribbon cable, it can't be the button either! There's just a piece called a shim missing between the button and the ribbon cable!

Without dismantling anything, I gave a few sprays of contact and head cleaner. The power button is as good as new.
