How to force a URL to open with Google Chrome?

Hello,

In Vista family 32 bits, currently my internet links open with FF, even though I have disabled its automatic opening.

Right-clicking on a .lnk URL, Properties, does not show "open with..."

In the 'Settings' of Google Chrome, and 'Default Browser', the button
"Set Google Chrome as default browser" does not work
, and no matter how many times I click on it, the line below always tells me:
"Google Chrome is not your default browser."

And when I open GChr, I still have the button bar that asks me:
"Make Google Chrome your default browser?"
Of course, clicking on it does nothing.

And when I click on a URL from the desktop, it still opens with FF. :( rrrrrr

Is it due to the fact that my GChrome is a portable app installed on my D drive and not on my C drive of Windows Vista?

Can we add GChrome to the desktop context menu "Open with..."?
If yes, how to do it please?

Thank you in advance for your responses

Configuration: I have 2 PCs (1 XP, 1 Windows 7) and 2 laptops (1 XP, 1 Vista). On Vista, I installed in portable version 'Virtual Box' to add XP Sp3, Windows 7, and Ubuntu10.

    Hi everyone,
Actually, it turns out that it was because I was using portable Google Chrome.
Since I installed the PC version, no more problems...
