Insufficient memory or disk space in Word 2007

Question

Hello everyone.
I'm currently experiencing a problem with Office 2007 Pro Plus. All of a sudden, it keeps showing me memory or disk space insufficient when I try to open a Word file, and when I try an Excel file, it tells me xllex.dll is missing or damaged. I don't get it; I've uninstalled and cleaned everything then reinstalled several times, but nothing works. I hope one of you can help me. I've tried everything; I don't understand why, when both memory and disk space are fine. I've even tried other versions (Ultimate and Enterprise), but I keep getting the same error messages.
Either I have a virus, but I've checked already and found nothing. This seems to have occurred after the installation and uninstallation of OpenOffice 2.1.0, but I'm not sure.

Hello,
I encountered the following issue in Word 2007 today:
Upon opening an existing file or creating a new file:
- message "insufficient memory or disk space, unable to display the font,"
- display in draft mode with irregular spaces between characters

After searching various forums, I read that the issue might be related to Adobe. The problem was resolved after updating Adobe.

Thanks, userbear, but nothing works.
It’s always the same.
I don't get where it’s coming from.
I even have an old backup of my entire PC and copied all the folders and files related to Office 2007 thinking that one file was corrupted, but it’s still the same.
It might be a virus; I don't see anything else, and neither does Nod32 or Outpost.

Hi, I had the same problem as you and I downloaded Open Office 2.2 Result: no issues, it opened the Word documents that were getting blocked!!

a few months later, I have exactly the same issue. So far, the only person who has been able to solve it has done it the hard way by completely formatting his system drive!!

Has anyone found an easier solution, please?

Exactly the same symptoms, the problem must be coming from Windows (Office reinstalled).  There, I feel like I’m going to format the disk, I see nothing else :(

I tried to replace the implicated DLL with the DLL provided in the installation files (.CAB) and a DLL downloaded from the web. Nothing works!

There is no hardware solution to this problem.  The memory sticks were damaged (test carried out with memtest), I changed them and it works.

it's quite surprising this issue. I did indeed try everything you did, Mejean, but I don't see anything else for now except formatting (and frankly, it's really annoying...)  no solutions yet??

Hi,

I had the "insufficient memory" issue when I was making changes to a Word document and then saving it as Word 97-2003. I went to Word options - add-ins - manage COM add-ins, and I removed all the add-ins.
Firstly, I can save my documents again
Opening is now 10 times faster and more.

(like it removes PDF complete add-ins - the ISSO service, etc...)

The problem is not at all material. It is a program that blocks the opening of the document to be opened. The solution is as follows:
1-If you do not have OPEN OFFICE, download it as it is free.
2-Save your document somewhere on your disk, for example in the "my documents" folder.
3-Go to this folder, then right-click and select open with
4-Choose open with OPEN OFFICE writer
and it should work fine

No panic people, nothing simpler to resolve this error that happened to me today.
Just go to your control panel, then follow the step to uninstall the program; during this process, the option to repair the program appears, you just need to check it and click next. After the repair, it will ask you to restart the PC, you restart it, and once it’s restarted, everything works beautifully.

Hello everyone,
I had the same problem as you with Word 2003, I called a computer-savvy friend:
You need to install CCleaner (free and very reliable) then:
First, close all your windows, only the desktop should be displayed on the screen, and then do this:
Cleaner > Analyze > (once the analysis is complete) Clean > Then in the left menu: Registry > Find errors > (at the end of the search) > fix the selected errors > Then you save everything it says > then you repeat the operation "Find errors endlessly until it no longer detects any > then you Analyze until it detects nothing ... After that you can close CCleaner ...
Re-open Word and it should normally work ....
