Hello,
I typed an extremely important report this morning that I need to submit by January 7 without fail on Open Office. I saved it every time I made changes because my computer was almost out of battery. It suddenly turned off without me being able to shut it down. The problem is that when I turned it back on, my file was no longer in the same format, but in an ODC format. A window opens when I try to open it saying: ASCII filter options and below it character set, basic font, languages, paragraph break.
There are different options to choose from for each, but nothing works. Every time I open my folder, it only displays #!
Please help me!
I can send you my document if you have any idea! Thank you.

I had the same problem with opening a window - ASCII filter options - and after checking, it was the default program that had changed.
The documents were being read in Open Office when they should have been in PDF.
Computer characters were appearing in place of the text.
So make sure they are in the format for which they were saved. Everything is back to normal for me.
