evacuation plan drawing

Question

Hello,

I am a second-year DUT student and I am currently doing an internship.

I need to create and draw an evacuation plan for the company.

The company provided me with a hand-drawn plan, and I would like to make some modifications (add colored backgrounds to differentiate areas, circulation routes, exits, fire extinguishers, etc.).

For this, what do you think is the best solution:
- redo the entire plan using software, but which free software?
- use the current plan, which is clean and clear, and make the adjustments with software

Additionally, since the evacuation is done by zones (sectors of the company), I need to cut part of the plan and enlarge it --> is it possible to do this with software?

More simply, I would like to know about free software that allows tracing plans (and if possible, evacuation plans).

I will look into a video call, but for now I've retrieved AutoCAD R14 and I'm going to make a nice clean plan.

I have a little problem with AutoCAD; when I launch it, I have a black background and I would like it to be white... please give me the procedure to fix this, knowing that I have an English version.

Here I am again...  My diagram is coming along well, but I still have 3 questions because the English version is not my thing^^  - How do I layout my diagram for printing (landscape, A3...) ?  - Is it possible to enlarge the scale to cut certain parts of the diagram and have them larger?  - Can we add colored backgrounds to the diagram? Know that there are standards for this type of plan (standard NF 60-303).

I myself create this type of plan....
AutoCAD is a complex tool for this kind of work; you should rather turn to vector drawing software: Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape ...

A fire safety plan doesn't need to be created to the millimeter. It just needs to be a faithful and coherent plan for employees, the public, and emergency services.

In any case, good luck with your project.

It's very hard to redraw on scanned plans (thus on a bitmap file) because you will lose quality, clarity, and readability of your plans... The ideal is to retrieve the source files from the architects, and if they do not exist or no longer exist, you need to vectorize these plans and clean them up a bit, just to keep only the essentials to define the evacuation. Let me explain: on an architectural plan, everything that is joinery, frames, representation of tables, bathtubs, direction of door openings, dimensions, etc., only complicates the reading of your plans. Please reassure me, my Quebec friend, when you talk about the territory, it's not the ENTIRE territory, right? I have been a specialist in evacuation-intervention plans for 15 years, but unfortunately, I do not know Visio, but if you have problems with their development, I can help you.

Hi, try scanning your plan in JPG or another format and open it with ArcSoft Photostudio 2000. There you can add text, lines, and also other images, resizing them as needed. You need to indicate the exits, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, manual fire stations, and a legend with symbols that you can find on the internet on the plan. I personally completed the plans for a building with 77 apartments in less than a day. Good luck. On each displayed plan, you must indicate (you are here) at the location where you are.

However, I have another question regarding the supports. What should we print the plans on? I read somewhere that it has to be 10/10 laminate paper... But I'm not quite sure what that really means. I also read that it should have resistance to aging...

I started by marking the locations of the existing fire extinguishers on the plans I have and drawing the exits that I think are best positioned as emergency exits, but I don't know if these exits are regulated or if we can place them as we wish.

You need to register on this forum to get the symbols (it's free). Moreover, there are plenty of specialists who will help you define your outputs (among other things), and for free. If there is a RIA in your fire cabinet, it is the symbol of the RIA that you need to indicate.
