Hello,
during the installation of my Wi-Fi modem I encountered these parameters (VPI and VCI). VCI is the ID of the virtual path access and VPI is the ID of the virtual circuit. if you have explanations regarding these two parameters I would be very grateful, thank you and have a good day.

One could say that these are ports with which a virtual circuit is established (I think).

These are not ports, but the local identity of a virtual circuit, yes. The VP/VC of a virtual circuit can change from one node to another or from one interface to another on the same node: for example, a VC can enter on VP 16/VC 36 in a switch and exit on VP 34/VC 77.

@brupala: on the same topic, do you know an xDSL modem that can connect simultaneously to a VP and several VC?
