eMule insufficient disk space Solved

Question

Hello everyone
I'm using Windows XP and my eMule downloads arrive with the message insufficient disk space and a yellow and black striped band. I can't open them. Yet my disk space is almost empty and they are just small files. What to do as Lenin would say?

Hello,I had the same problem, and I just found the solution. In fact, the black and yellow striped bar appears when the name of the downloaded file is too long. To fix it, you need to right-click on your file in the transfer tab of eMule and select "Detailed Information".In the name tab, you can rename your file and give it a shorter name so that eMule can finalize it correctly.There you go, hoping this can solve your problem. @+++

try to do it like this. it worked for me. go to my computer; right-click on the windows disk; properties; disk cleanup, and you're good to go. if that doesn't work, delete your corrupted folders; they might be corrupted. i hope this helps you.

Ah yes, if it still doesn't work, try workstation; right-click on Windows. "Properties"; "Tools"; in "Error Checking"; click on Check Now; check both boxes and click Start. Don't forget that your striped downloads may be corrupted.

Hello, it happened to me too even though my files are sent to an external hard drive where there was still 200 gigabytes of free space. I moved those files to D: which was empty and then it worked. After that, I was able to cut and paste my files back onto my external drive. Question: so why did the files show "insufficient disk space" directly on my external drive when I had space since I placed them there afterwards...?

I will tell you! Normally, you have two important folders with eMule. One is the "Incoming" folder (C:\Program Files\eMule\Incoming) and the second is the "Temp" folder (C:\Program Files\eMule\Temp) Incoming for your downloaded files and Temp, as the name suggests, for temporary files. Open the Temp folder, press Ctrl+A and right-click on one of the files, Properties, and check the size on disk. You will see an unimaginable size (for me, 63.2 Giga)! My advice: delete all files currently downloading with eMule, go back to Temp and delete the remaining files, and of course, empty the recycle bin!  And there, oh miracle, you have disk space!  BH :-)  PS: Open the eMule options, extended properties, check the value Check disk space and below, type 4095 (anyway, you couldn't set more!) and eMule will keep you 4 Giga of disk space just in case!

I resolved the issue as follows:

- at first, I tried to create a desktop shortcut by dragging the incoming folder from the desktop to the desktop, but instead of a shortcut, the entire incoming folder was moved.
- as a result, downloads no longer know where to go when they are finished!! --> an error message

Solution: restore the incoming folder to its original place and create a desktop shortcut by right-clicking on the incoming folder "create desktop shortcut"

And there you go!!!

in the good old days, because nowadays, Madam, I only download TV shows that will never be released on a commercial circuit... ;), at my place, this phenomenon happened every time Bitdefender informed me at the same time of a virus included in the downloaded file. I therefore considered that there was a relationship between Bitdefender's action and this "blocking". I would advise those who manage to unlock these files (with the mention insufficient disk space and a yellow and black striped bar) to analyze them carefully with a good antivirus before using them... (It is true that Bitdefender tends to identify a lot of false positives, especially in Keygens... but I never dared to tempt fate by launching them anyway. Therefore, I abstained).
To "unlock" these files in order to throw them away, the only solution was to uncheck Bitdefender's real-time scanning while I moved the incriminating file to the trash (and empty it!), and then recheck real-time scanning (not to be confused with "re... checking" ;). Otherwise, Windows refuses to transfer them out of the eMule Temp folder "because they are being used by another software".

hi everyone,
I had the same problem and I just needed to click "open incoming folder" in the "tools" menu of emule and hit "resume" on my files and that was it!!
In my opinion, I must have moved my incoming file and emule couldn't find it anymore!

I found it, it’s all bullshit, if a file is finished and there’s insufficient space, just turn off the emulator and right-click on the shortcut to start as an administrator and the file will be green (it works for me, I don’t know about you) See you later!

Hello everyone even I, who am a bit experienced, still don't know why eMule is showing me this! I restarted eMule several times + the computer, did a disk cleanup, cleared space on my hard drive, nothing worked. But I noticed that: 1° it was written in the log (server page): File paused, restart eMule for another attempt - "C:\Program Files\eMule\Incoming\filename.avi": Access denied. So my Incoming folder refuses this file. 2° when I right-click on said file, in detailed information, general, in the transfer table, it was stated among other things corrupted 1.1 MB and recovered: 0.0. So in my opinion, it's an infected file, as several internet users mentioned in this topic. I have therefore deleted this file! Hope this helps bretanne

Hi, I had this problem too, but know that it is very easy to solve.
The issue is that the file name is too long, you just need to shorten it!
You just have to right-click on the yellow and black file (where it says: insufficient disk space)
Then click on 'detailed information', go to 'name', and rename your file using a shorter name! And click OK...
Then right-click on it again and click on resume and your problem will be solved!
It's not very complicated, you just have to know it! :-)
