Battery "plugged in, not charging" DELL Solved

Question

Hello,

For a few days now, my battery won't charge anymore, it's stuck at 15%. When the battery is in and the cable is connected, it says "plugged in, not charging."
I don't think it's a battery issue since I just changed it (a month ago) and it was working perfectly fine before. My charger is also working well because when I remove the battery and leave the laptop plugged in, it works just fine.

Do you have a solution? What could be causing this?

My Dell Latitude has a function to enable and disable battery charging.  For this model, you need to press fn+F2 (function + F2)  -> Fn + F2 Switch battery charger on/off.

In fact, it's very simple; it usually comes from the charger itself not being recognized as a Dell charger by your laptop.
You look inside the plug that fits into your computer; it should contain a small pin, and if it no longer exists, then you need to change that plug.
Everything will go back to normal. Be careful, you are not changing the charger, just the cable that goes to the laptop.

I think this little needle is coming loose, that's where the faulty connection is,
If you move the plug, the laptop sometimes recognizes the charger temporarily.
In my opinion, you should change this cable, of course by a professional.

You have three coaxial wires in the output cable, two for powering the PC and one for control (the one connected to the needle), so the PC is correctly powered, but the control is missing. Dell's internal system then prevents the battery from charging for fear of damage.
Get your cable changed; that's the issue since sometimes when you move the plug, it does start charging.

try this, I had the same problem. plug your computer into the power, then unplug it and turn it off. remove the battery and press the power button for 30 seconds or more. then put the battery back in, plug it back into the power, and turn on your computer. you should see the charging indicator again.

I had the same problem after replacing the battery in my wife's Dell laptop. It charged for a few seconds, then said "waiting." It wouldn't charge anymore.
Next to the battery, there's a small sliding button with an open padlock and a closed padlock. When I put the battery back in, I forgot to slide this lock to the closed padlock position.
It's all good again, it's charging!

I’ve been struggling with this problem for two weeks now. I tried the unplug, discharge, replug method once; it worked six months ago. But today, after several attempts, nothing. So, I’m ready to buy a new PC because my current one is slowing down as if it’s only running at 40% capacity. As a last resort, I decided to plug in the charger from one of my other Dell laptops with THE SAME VOLTAGE but with a higher power of 130W instead of 90W. Miracle, it worked, the speed is back.
